Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu. Hello everybody. It’s
nice to see you here. On this wonderful occasion, I would like to deliver you a
story that can touch our feeling. This story is talking about an ungrateful
daughter, who had a bad behave to her mother. On the other hand, the mother was
also weak and did not have a brave to admonish her daughter about the truth.
Well ladies and gentlemen, this the story. “The
legend of Batu Menangis”
Once upon a time, there lived a mother with her daughter. The
daughter named Salina. Salina was really a beautiful girl. She was tall and
quite slim. Her body was so proporsional. She has bright sharp eyes and also
light skin. She was really perfect in looking. But, she has bad attitude. Salina was an arrogant
and lazy girl. She never helped her mother. She always admired her beauty every
day. Salina was also a spoiled girl, when she wanted something, her mother had
to make it. Salina's mother, Cik Rumina, was really pity. She could not deny
Salina’s wishes because she was afraid her daughter got angry and run away from
her. Cik Rumina had to work day and night. She worked on the rice field on the
day, washed clothes the richest family on the afternoon and weaved on the night.
One day, Salina and her mother went out. Salina was walking in
front of her mother. She wore a very beautiful dress. There were some
luxurious gold jewelleries on her. She
walked arrogantly under her lovely umbrella. Meanwhile, her mother was walking
behind her. Rumina's dress was dirty and ugly. There were some patches on the
dress. She looked so poor and humble. No one expected that the two people who
walked was a mother and her daughter.
"Hey, beautiful girl. Where are you going?
“ I am going to the market”
“Is that your mother who walks behind you?"
"Of course no, It is so imposible. She is my maid."
Salina and Rumina continued the journey. Rumina felt so sad but
she could not do anything. And then, a young guard met them and asked questions.
"Hey sweety, You looked so elegant with your glamour dress”
“ Of course. This dress is expensive. No one besides me who has
this dress”
“ By the way, is that your mother who walks behind you?"
"No. Of course no, can't you see that? She's really different
with me. How could you say that she's my mother? She is my slave."
Every time they walked, Salina said that the woman walked behind
her was her maid or her slave. She never admitted that the woman is her mother.
Rumina was really disappointed with her daughter.
“Salina. Please, don’t walk too fast”
“What. You accused me walking so fast, Don’t you have a mind”
“Salina. Please. Slowly I am
getting tired.”
“Old lady. You always make me salty”
“Hey pretty girl. Don’t walk so fast. Your mother is weak. She can
walk as fast as you can.
“Hey poor man. Don’t you have eyes? She is a old poor woman. It is
so unfeasible become my mother. She is my slave”
Rumina was so depressed
hearing those words again. She couldn't bear it. Salina has hurted her heart. It
was too far. Rumina could not accept it anymore. The poor mother finally prayer
to the God.
"Oh God. I can't stand this. My daughter always humiliates
me. I am so disappointed with her. God... It trully hurted me. How can she said
I am her maid, I am her slave. God... I am her mother. I am trully her mother.
God... Please give her punishment. Please…"
With the power of God, suddenly, little by little, Salina's body
turned into a stone. Salina cried and asked for a help to her mother.
"Oh.... what’s happened? What’s wrong with my leg? Mother....
Mother.. Where are you?
Salina cried sorrowfully. She realized that she always had bad
attitude. She hurted her mother.
Please…. forgive me mother….. forgive for my bad attitude…. please
mother….. please... help me... Mother... I do apologize. Please...."
But, it was too late. Everything was over. All of Salina's body was
turned into a stone. Now, The people
still could see that the stone was crying. The people called the stone
"Batu Menangis".
Well audiences, that is the story.
Don’t be arrogant. We may not hurt our mother. And the most point, We have to
realize our mother’s condition, never blame it
and try to make it better. Thank you. Assalamualaikum wr.wb
