First of all let us devote our thanks to Allah SWT who has given us time, chance and opportunity. So we can attend this nice competition. Salawat and Salam, let us send to the great, Muhammad SAW who has brought us from the darkness into the lightness.
Ladies and gentlemen. On this occasion, I would like to deliver my speech about Natural Disaster. In here I want to strengthen my point to natural disaster and its solution problems.. Natural disaster is disaster or damage that caused by nature. It is the effect of a natural hazard like flood, tornado, volcanic eruption, earthquake, tsunami and others. It leads to moral and financial, environmental damage and sociological hazard. Our country, Indonesia has faced so many natural disasters. We still remember the giant tsunami in Aceh that killed thousands people and millions of materials lost. Then, a huge earthquake in west Sumatra and Yogyakarta that brought deep trauma for the people. Merapi volcano eruption in Sleman that caused meters of volcanic dust. Recent day we faced flood in Jakarta that soak many houses. A hot issue in these recent days in Japan, an earthquake about 8.9 scale Richter’s that create tsunami. It kills more than 14 thousands people and completely crushed the land. It makes Japan like a death town.
Ladies and gentlemen, so many fatal impacts that is caused by natural disaster. We must stop it in order to have a peace and good living. There are some ways that we can do to solve this problem. First, do not cut any plants or tree illegally. Nowadays, there are many illegal logging actions in Indonesia. It has done for many years. The people and the company cut the trees as much as they like without thinking the future of their descendents. They took all of big tree for their own gain. Many flooding and landslide cases are caused of this main factor. So, we have to realize that the tree and the forest are really important to safe our life. The tree can absorb the water so it can stop flood, landslide and also the will produce oxygen and reduce hot weather in order to stop global warming.
Secondly, we must stop forestry fire. Burning the forest is criminal. Whatever reason that is truly violent. It is almost as like as illegal logging. Besides causing flood forestry fire also cause air pollution. Indonesia almost every year produces smog and imports it to other country freely. There are so many negative impact that the community get from it. Many respiration problems happened. Like ISPA or infection of critical respiration. So if we want to be free from flooding and respiration illness, we should stop forestry fire from now on. The government as a stake holder for those actions, illegal logging and forestry fire should have good rule and law. They must give a heavy punishment for the people who broke it.
Thirdly, we do green peace action. We can plant any tree as much as we can do in our house and our environment. Don’t throw rubbish to every where you like. To the river, lake or sea. And always keep clean the environment. As we know, rubbish will block the water so it can accumulate in place and for long time the water will over flowing there. So, by keeping the environment well it can safe ourselves life. Let us create the clean and tidy environment from our house, school and city.
The last one, the government should make good city drainage. Swift drain will flow the water well. Even the government should build man – made rivers to avoid flood or to save the water flowing to the seas. Moreover building dams to keep the water remain longer for good irrigation, fishery, water sport, recreation, electricity and as water resources of daily life. Reforestation is a good solution to protect us from landslide, erosion and flood. Designing the city park is also a good idea to stop flooding because in the city there are a few of trees. So the trees in the city park can absorb the water to prevent the flooding.
