BRAVE
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to tell
you a meaningful
story from Scotland. The
story is about an
effort of rebellious
princess named Merida to save her mother. Ok. Let’s
enjoy the story.
In the 10th century,
lived Princess Merida who has an incredible skilled archer. She was the daughter of King Fergus and Queen Eleanor. On Merida sixteen-years old, Merida became a proper royal lady like
princess. Merida is determined to seek, freedom and live on her own life
“Mother I want to be free, I want to live in my own life”
“What did you say? No Merida, you cannot go
anywhere. Your
home is here”
“Please Mom”
“I said no Merida. Your father will not allowed you to go either.”
One day, there were three Lords present their son to marry Merida. They decided to have arcer competition. The prince who had complete one, have
right to marry Merida. On the day of
competition, Merida did a complete archer better than the three princes.
“ Merida , you still have to choose a prince”. Said the Queen
“ I understand
Merida but this is our custom. You have to choose one of the princes”
“ No
Mother, I won
the contest,
so I will marry no one among them“
Eleanor
got angry and throwed Merida bow into the fire place. Merida
was so regret, anger and then she runs away on her horse
in tears. Eleanor
quickly retrieved
the bow from the fire in regret.
Later, Merida found a witch to lead her to her fate
in an old hut, .
“Please, give me a spell that
would change my mother willingness and will change my fate.”
The witch
conjured
a tart and asked Merida to give it to her mother. Merida was
so happy. She forgot something important.
” Mother, this is a special tart for you”
“Ooo it
looks so delicious, so tasty. thank you dear”
Eleanor bit the tar smoothly. Suddenly
Eleanor felt sick. She was trembeled. Merida took
her mother to her room. Merida discovered her mother. In short time Eleanor
has transformed
into a bear.
“Mother..... Mother.... What is happening.
Mom......You transformed to be a ..... bear”
Merida and her mother retreated into the forest back
to the witches cottage. The witch isn’t present, but there is left a cryptic
message for Merida.
“By the second sunrise the spell would be
permanent unless you can repair a bond”
“How can we fix the curse
mom”
“ Please..... help me. I don’t want you to be
permanent bear... help...”
Then, Merida did not know things to do. She tried
to make her mother bear plesant
Ellinor suddently acted as if She was about to attact
Merida, but soon She recovered as her mother is
turning into a true bear. Merida realized Ellinor will become just like mordu, a real bear, if they don’t break the spell.
“ I will fix everything that’s I have broken, so that my mother will turn as
a human again ”
Merida broght back her mother
to the palace and told his father about the
bear mother.
“Dad, this is mother,
she has turned
into a bear”
“I don’t believe it, you are lying.” Said the
king.
“ No.. that is true. Believe in me”
The king could
not trust it then he asked the soldiers to kill the bear. Elianor was so
afraid. She then run quickly to the hut. At the end
The king beat Mor’du in a
battle and
Mordu die.
“ Don’t kill her. She is my mother”
Merida puts
the sewn tapestry on top of the bear.
“ The sun has already raised, why doesn’t my mother change into human
being?, Why does not it work?”
“ Mom, please forgive me Mom, I love you so much,
I don’t want you to be a bear permanently.”
Merida was so sad. She had curse her mother to be a
bear. Now. All regrets are useless. But.. Suddenly she heard her mother soft
voice.
“ No, dear I will not be a real bear, look I am a
human form. “
“ Mother, I love you, Thank you God” said
Merida. Everybody are happy and making their mother daughter bond even
stronger.
Well, ladies and gentleman from the
story we can learn
that we should obey our parent, especially our mom’ advise, because no mother
wants her children to be suffered. Ok. See you then.
