THUMBELINA
Once
upon a time, there lived a mother and her little girl. The girl was so
beautiful and energetic but she was so tiny. Her body was only the size of a
thumb. So her mother named her Thumbelina.
One
night Thumbelina was sleeping on her special bed. A frog came and saw her. The
frog felt in love and wished to marry Thumbelina. Then the fog carried a way Thumbelina
to the pond and placed her on a lotus leaf.
In
the morning thumbelina woke up. She was so surpise. She was alone in the midlle
of the pond.
“Oh
my god. Where am I being now?”
“You
are in my palace. You will be my queen. We will marry soon” the frog told his
purpose arrogantly.
“No.
I do not want to marry you”
“Don’t
talk to much. You may not refuse me”
Thumbelina
was so afraid. She did not want to marry with the frog. She was so sad. She
cried sorrowfully. A fish heard her crying and took a pity on her. When the
frog went by, the fish came nearer to the tiny girl.
“Who
are you? What do you do here?”
“I
am Thumbelina. The frog took me here. He wanted to marry me. Please! Help me
back to my mother!
“The
frog wanted to marry you?”
“Yes.
But I do not want to. Please save me!”
The
fish then decided to save Thumbelina from the frog. The fish pulled the leaf
till the bank of the pond. After thanking to the fish, Thumbelina jumped to the
land and run away from the pond quickly. Then she met a butterfly
“Hi..
Tiny girl. Where are you going. You look so hurry?”
“I
lost my way home. Would you help me?”
“I
would. But I am not strong enough to carry you. I will take you to the bird”
Then
the butterfly took her to land full of beautiful flowers and birds. Thumbelina
made many friends there. She was happy
staying on that place but it did not make her forget her lovely mother.
Thumbelina then talked to a kind blue bird. She told about her story.
Fortunately, the blue bird agreed to help her finding her mother.
“I
know where your mother is. Let me pick you up there!”
The
bird flew a way to the land of people that were not so far from there. Thumbelina
marked the land. It was her hometown. Thumbelina met her mother again. The city
dwellers was so happy and they warmly welcomed her return. Finally, Thumbelina lived
happily ever and after.
