LETTER

Dear  Sandi,
How does thing go with you my pal? I am happy always.
Sandi, I wanna tell you about my semester’s holiday. I, My parents and my best friend, Ridho visited a cave at Maros called Leang Leang. It was my first time to visit the cave, better yet, my best friend came to visit it with me.
The cave was famous for its primitive wall painting which was some hand prints and wild boar paintings. The cave and its surrounding were turned into a national park, so it was taken care of government. We adventured around the cave with a guide. We had to climb some metal stairs to get the cave because it was embedded into a small mountain. Next stop was a place where some seashells littered the ground. It called kiokenmoddinger or kitchen trash. The last place was a museum where they have skeletons of the human who lived in the cave. Its walls were adorned with photographs taken when they did an excavation there.
It was really amazing and unforgettable experience for me. How about your holiday? I hope you got special one like me. Wait for your story.

Your pal,
Anas

REPORT

MARRIAGE IN LOMBOK

Young Sasak couples have a choice of different ways of getting married. The first is an arranged marriage. The parents of the man arrange that he will marry a particular girl. Another way is to marry a cousin. Both of these ways are simple and easy. The parents discuss the bride’s dowry. When all the arrangements are finished, the ceremony, sorong serah,  is performed.
The next method is more difficult and dramatic. In this method the man runs away with the girl of his choice to another village. He then reports his action to the head of that village. He is punished for his wrong action and has to wear a piece of black cotton around his arm. Finally his family has to pay a price to the bride’s family as compensation. One advantage of the last
method is that there is no wedding ceremony.
Wedding ceremonies, as we know, are very expensive.

DESCRIPTIVE

I am Miranda. I want to tell you about my house. My house is on Jalan Kartini. It is big and nice. My family and I live there happily.
It has two floors. It has a living room, a small kitchen and a bathroom on the first floor. On the second floor, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. My parents' bedroom is big. My brother's room is next to my room.
My room is small but I like it. It has light green wall. There is a desk with a computer on it. I do homework there. There is also a nice garden in front of my house and I often play in the garden. We love our house.

PROCEDURE

Making Goodie Bags for Party Favors

Party favors are traditional gifts for guests at a party. Purchasing an expensive item for each guest is unnecessary; as you can make some simple but thoughtful party favors yourself at home. Whether you are planning a party for adults or for children, explore how you can make your own favors and show your guests your appreciation for their attendance.
Things you’ll need
·         Mesh fabric
·         Scissors
·         Candy
Instructions
·         Cut out one 3-Inch square for each party favor out of mesh using scissors.
·         Place candies in the center of each mess square. Use candies that match decor. For example, use pastel colored Jordan almonds for a baby shower or red and green candy-coated chocolates for a Christmas party.
·         Pull up the sides of each square to create a satchel for the candy. Secure the pouches with 3-inch lengths of ribbon by tying them to be a bow just below the raised corners.
·         Pass the candy goodie bags out to your guests as they leave or place them on each table for guests to take as they sit.

NARRATIVE

Now you must know that a Town Mouse once upon a time went on a visit to his cousin in the country. He was rough and ready, but he loved his town friend and made him heartily welcome. Beans and bacon, cheese and bread, were all he had to offer, but he offered them freely.
The Town Mouse rather turned up his long nose at this country fare, and said: “ I cannot understand, Cousin, how you can put up with such poor food as this, but of course you cannot expect anything better in the country; come with me and I will show you how to live. When you have been in town a week you will wonder how you could ever have stood a country life.”
No sooner said than done: the two mice set off for the town and arrived at the Town Mouse’s residence late at night. “ You will want some refreshment after our long journey,” said the polite Town Mouse, and took his friend into the grand dining-room. There they found the remains of a fine feast, and soon the two mice were eating up jellies and cakes and all that was nice.
Suddenly they heard growling and barking. “ What is that?” said the Country Mouse. “It’s only the dogs of the house,” answered the other. “Only!” said the Country Mouse. I do not like that music at my dinner.”
Just at the moment the door flew open, in came two huge mastiffs, and the two mice had two scamper down and run off. “ good-bye, Cousin,” said the Country Mouse, “What! Going so soon?” said the other. “ yes,” he replied; ” Better beans and bacon in peace than cakes and jellies in fear.

RECOUNT
SPHINX CAT
Last week was my terrible day. My Sphinx cat was the only pet I have. She had a little hair but not totally hairless as she had a peach fuzz over much of her body. I like to call her saphir. I got it for my b’day present from my granny.
But, she had gone when all of my family went to Pekan baru for one week. We forgot to send Saphir to pet shop. There was nothing for her to eat. When we got home, we found her dead body in the kitchen. It was awful day. We lost her so much. At last I buried her under the coconut tree. And I planted a rose flower on it to remind her.
